* The version of VirtualBox you are using

This is just a friendly reminder in case you missed it. Even though the download of guest additions says it's at 100%, it doesn't actually download the package to my system. I would appreciate any assistance, thank you.Īlso, I forgot to mention. I tried manually uninstalling virtualbox-guest-utils and reinstalling it with the terminal, which did update me from version 7.0.6-1 to 7.0.6-3, but it did not solve my issue and I still can't figure out why I can't use Guest Additions to use my VM's in full screen. I get this message appear in the side bar, and the download bar is immediately at 100% every single time. Do you wish to download this disk image file from the Internet?" I click Download since the only other option is to Cancel and I apparently, according to Virtualbox, don't have Guest Additions installed. I click on Devices -> Insert Guest Additions CD image, and I get a popup saying "Could not find the VirtualBox Guest Additions disk image file. If I launch my VM, in my case, I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate on top of Manjaro Linux. I already have this packaged installed as mentioned before. On Arch based distributions, you need the virtualbox-guest-utils package installed to use Guest Additions. According to this tutorial from late 2022 on how to install Guest Additions on Linux, under the section titled "On Arch-Based Distros" (It's about half way down the page). I listed all my installed packages in the terminal to see which version of virtualbox I was using for this post, and found that I already have virtualbox-guest-utils 7.0.6-1 installed. I've scoured the internet for info including carefully skimming through official documentation, and I still can't get it to work. Host system details: Manjaro Linux (Arch based btw)įor quite some weeks now I've not been able to figure out how to install and use the Guest Additions.
